Colourful hut above the Levada do Caniçal Approaching the Boca do Risco View to the West from Boca do Risco Path can be seen as the horizontal line near the top. It's about 400 meters above the sea. Cloud on the horizon is the remnants of hurricane Gordon which was passing Madeira at the time. Looking East from Boca do Risco. Big cliff meant unusual camera angle and a severe bit of cropping!! Extremely warm weather during the walk - I managed to run out of water on the ridge. Luckily there were still patches of snow in places left over from the wintry weather a few weeks before. Snow blowing horizontally in gale force winds near Lord Stones Cafe. The hill in the background is Cringle Moor Latin Graffit on Cringle Moor. Tempus Explora Omnis Negotium - Time Solves All Problems. Snow blowing through gate at the foot of Cold Moor. Here the wind was blowing 45mph, and the windchill was down to -20C! More horizontal snow at the foot of Cold Fell. Looking back up to Cringle Moor. Powder snow building up on the 'sheltered' side of the wall. Wind is blowing 35mph right to left. Cleveland Way path is on the right hand side of the wall.
